I revisited the place after about 15 years. The interior was just as it was when I used to frequent it often in my younger days, and the maids were incredibly hospitable. Thank you!
On the day my favorite maid graduated, the manager, whom I'd never spoken to before, suddenly appeared and said, "Actually, there's been some lingering tension between her and our shop... I'm sorry it had to end like this, but please keep coming back." It was a truly shocking experience. All the maids are such nice people, which made the manager's inexplicable behavior all the more striking. Naturally, it completely ruined the sentimental mood I'd been in after seeing her off. And what's more, the reason for the tension was that "the maid didn't want to participate in an event, but we forced her to, and things got complicated." Isn't that entirely the manager's responsibility? After hearing that kind of inside story, it's impossible to simply enjoy the place anymore. Going to a shop while thinking, "Ah, maybe she was forced to work shifts..." is hardly enjoyable. Furthermore, from what I know, two maids have left for other shops in the last six months. Maybe that's just how maid cafes and themed cafes are, but a shop with so many problems involving its staff in quick succession is too scary to visit anymore. How exactly are you treating the maids? I was supposed to see them off after their graduation and end things on a good note. Now, when I think about what's really going on behind those smiles in the instant photos, I feel like crying.
The interior of this building is stylish and unified, like an old Western-style mansion. It feels like you're in a mansion with maids, talking to them or listening to their conversations. The atmosphere, the presentation of the food, the maids' costumes, makeup, and accessories are all of a high standard. It was an elegant space, with the maids moving around in a slightly dimly lit room. Since it's not an idol-themed cafe, the prices were normal. Really normal. There were regulars taking lots of photos with the maids, and it seems that the maid cafe sometimes transforms into a bar at night. This shows that it's part of the trend in the maid industry where various establishments have different faces. However, I think it's friendly to casual maid cafe users, yet the quality of the maid cafe atmosphere is high. It didn't deviate too much from what I imagined a maid cafe to be like. If you're looking for a more refined cafe, rather than one with bright, studio-like lighting and girls in maid outfits, I would recommend this place.
The counter seats are reserved for regulars. First-time customers are ignored.
I have to say that the quality of the maids is extremely low. Some maids refuse to respond when called by bell (though they respond quickly when other customers call), and some maids are rude, so it may be a comfortable place for regular customers, but if you're not a regular customer, you should be prepared for some irritating moments. The price and taste are by no means bad, but the maids' attitudes ruin everything.
