Stained glass decor, lovely music and cozy atmosphere 😊 a plus 💯 We got the pancake with cafe latte (¥1100) and Ham and Eggs Set (¥850). First up the pancake, came with a butter slice on top and syrup. It was a bit dry, but fluffy and the syrup with the whipped cream topped it off. 🥞 This was my first time getting a cafe latte with actual artwork 💕 The ham and eggs set combo was very delicious, it gave off Ghilbi vibes honestly. ✨ Bread was nice and thick and the slight runny egg was great.
Relative small cafe 18 seaters ran with 1 cashier & 1 servers. Five 2-seaters, one 4-seater and four 1-seaters. Cafe is laced with stained glass and jazz music giving it a layback vibes. Great for a lazy morning or afternoon break and enjoy the slow life. The coffee is great, egg and ham was a hit with adult & kids alike. Pancakes was average as it was dense and on the dry side. Crispy outer of the pancake was a plus. Overall good customer experience, given the good vibes and great coffee.
Kissa Shochiku Nihonbashi is a Showa-era café that has been carefully restored. It is not an old coffee shop that has been left untouched and exactly as it was. The stained glass ceiling and retro-modern atmosphere feel carefully curated. This makes the space the main reason to visit. The food supports that mood, with thick toast, hotcakes, napolitan, pudding, egg sandwiches, cream soda, and the familiar pleasures of a Japanese kissaten. The focus is not on new flavours or technical surprises. It lies in sitting in a room where the classic café food and interior complement each other. Since it opens in the morning, it is also ideal for breakfast or a quiet break in Nihonbashi. The prices are more modern than those of traditional kissaten, but fair for this location. It's a retro café where the room carries the flavour as much as the menu.
Place has beautiful stain glass windows and 2 floors with plenty of seating. We got multiple entries icluding the pancakes and the famous egg sandwich and everything was delicious. Our iced latte and mochas were also really tasty. My favorite part was the “MEGA” mixed fruit juice that was giant and delicious. Overall really enjoyed this place!
First time trying a japanese pancake. It was whelming. It was a perfectly good pancake, it just didn't blow my socks off. On the flipside, the atmosphere and vibes were outstanding! I would definitely recommend visiting just for the cozy vibes. Unlike some of the other breakfast cafe chains, this wasn't crowded at all.
